My sixth quirk (if it is a quirk - more like a horrible feature) is that I talk/mumble to myself ... especially at night, when I'm sleeping. I do not believe that it occurs often but my sister says that when it does happen, she cannot sleep because it petrifies her. Indeed...?? How is it possible when she sleeps in the room next to mine? She says that she feels terribly sorry for my future husband-to-be and she wonders how on earth will he be able to share the same bed with me. My gosh - she should not be thinking such things. Well all I
know hope is that this future hubby of mine will be dressed in these gorgeous suits to share the lovely days with me... or perhaps, with no suits (& clothes) on at all... ^.~ kekeke...

I have an 8 year old sister (who looks like a 5 year old) and I love bringing her to clothing boutiques that cater specifically to children. Love love love to dress her up in all sorts and styles of hats, gloves, dresses, jeans, tops, shoes - male and female clothing. Oh so cute!!! SOOOOO CUTTEEE!! ^-^
So how could I resist the clothing when I saw the
miniature summer collection by
NOA NOA ? However looking back now, although quite cute, there seems to be no sense of childhood to the clothing. Rather, it reminds me of playing dress-ups, an innocent young child trying to be an adult far too quickly. And I wonder, what happenned to the cute feminine frilly dresses, the quirky bright little shorts and t-shirts - the novelty and the... the...the freshness,the youthfulness... the cuteness? (o'.'o) Or am I just growing far too old-fashioned and awkward... especially when I see little girls who (try to) strut their 'stuff' in midriff tops and mini's in shopping centres??
Hmm, I hate to sound contradictory ><" - but lol, the NOA NOA miniature collection is still quite cute isn't it?...

Yayes! One more week of uni until the Easter Break! Yahoooo!
I've been trying to organise my life and thus, the reason why this blog (and other blogs) have been on the end of my "important" list. It's horrible, I know and it's going to take me awhile before I can get this blog back to its 4th place after uni, work and social life...(which is still pretty much the end of the list....hahahah xD) lol. Doesn't sound much of a life does it? Urk, I'm sounding absolutely dreadful and good gosh, I really need to get this doom and gloom atmosphere out of my mind and heart!! And lol, here I am wondering how when I've got one to two assessments every week for the next ten weeks. Yes, assessments and to think I was pumped up for uni to start again...I was beyond my expectations. And lol, so yes, here I am thinking that the easter break will provide me with lots of chocolate to ease my depression and to increase my adrenalin.
Urk. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Let me start this post from scratch again. (o'.'o)
I've been really hyped up about
Fashion Week in Japan and I do every year. ^^ Love, love, love. And with deepest regret, one thing that I didn't talk about
last year was the
'Tokyo Girls Collection' and so I'm going to talk about it now. The
Tokyo Girls Collection, held twice a
year, is known as the fashion festival that features dozens and dozens of famous artists performing and glamorous models strutting down the uber-long (45metres to
be exact - good gosh, is that longer than
'Victoria's Secret'?) LED catwalk in
'Japanese Real Clothes for the World.' When I (they) say real clothes, I (they) mean the fashion forward and affordable labels that can be bought now, as opposed to the fashion presented in Fashion Week, which is intended for retail the following season. The best thing is that it's truly like a fashion festival where it's quirky, fun and happy. The next best thing is that anyone can attend and view the fashion festival. You don't have to be the next
Anna Wintour nor the poster girl or that to-die-for celebrity. You can just be you and oh, of course, you have to have the ¥3,000 entry fee/¥5,000 (aprox.) AU$30/AU$50seat in the stands or the ¥10,000 VIP (aprox. AU$100) seat right next to the stage. Now...since I missed the 6th tokyo girls collection on March 15th 2008 (as well as missing
Chemistry's performance), could someone give me a plane ticket to Japan just in time for the next Tokyo Girls Collection festival, please please please please please?? ^^
So whilst I wait for this plane ticket of mine, I shall youtube and surf the internet for the collection til my heart's content... And I know I'll find street fashion parading on the catwalk - not necessarily my favourites but still absolutely wonderful...

I really, really like the geometric print of the maxi dress below...well, I probably wouldn't like the print/pattern upon it if it wasn't for the colours. Those colours are my love. ^^
[vvv] Luv.Ronde also debuted this year and I was quite disappointed with the outfits, they weren't ... me? lol. xD However, the shoes that the models wore were awesome and ooh la la - tres magnifique!
[^] Okay, so I said I was quite disappointed with Luv.Ronde's outfits but this dress of theirs caught my breath. I'm not sure why. Perhaps I can visualise so many ways to wear this dress - I just love dresses that can be versatile and this is one of them.
[^v] I read somewhere that models threw away teddy bears to the crowd as they modelled down the catwalk. Why I couldn't have been there to catch one? And I wonder whether they threw away giant wine bottles to the crowd as well??

Now, I have a friend who would often criticise my heavy-money-wasting on magazines when most of it's just advertising prints. Now, magazines aren't money wasting are they?? No, I think definetly not. lol. But then again, my friend is not slightly interested in fashion - yes, would you believe it? - but she's awesome nonetheless. Well, I absolutely love fashion advertisements and that's part of the joy in magazines. I love scrutinizing every angle shot, each model's pose/stance, the layout, the set and of course, the styling of the clothes and accessories. Oh, fashion advertisements can be so wonderful. ^^ And the newest advertisement campaign of
Ports 1961 Spring/Summer 2008 collection is one of the most delightful with its inspiration coming from the beauty and style of
Africa.
[^] I love the use of shadows in this photograph.
I first noted Ports 1961 whilst reading about their 'Organic Arts' Collection back in the October 2007 Issue of JESSICA. Their Organic Arts collection were pretty much comprised of accessories made from organic materials such as wood and cotton and my gosh, they were one of the most beautiful pieces I had seen. As you can see the photo above, the model is holding a wooden clutch - part of the Organic Arts collection - in her hands.
[^] I just adore this outfit - the whole outfit but unfortunately, to much of my dismay, I just can't imagine myself wearing this outfit at all unless I lose 30 kg and wear 10 inch heels to make my legs look slender and long. ><"
[^] There is something about this photograph - the bare landscape/background and the flow of the colours is just so lovely. The dress seems to blend in with the background and yet, there's this contrast to it where it stands out...gosh, I sound so contradicting , what am I thinking and how do I describe this feeling that I have of this photo?.... It's just a strong and beautiful photograph.
[^] It was the bright white of the outfit against the dark background that captured me. It just brings the outfit out and as I was staring at it, I noticed the splendor of the tree. Look at those carvings/work of nature (or digital tech) upon that tree.
[^] Isn't this outfit just so classic? Timeless? For some reason, I love her pose. It's got a flair to it.
[^] The capturing of the dress is terrific and such great use of lighting so that the dress just seems to glow and shine in such beautiful shades of gold! However, this photograph reminds me of another advertisement that I had seen before, I can't remember which brand it was but yeah, there's a familiarity to this photo and I don't think that's a good thing to have as it might seem copy-cat...
[^] Often, I find myself attracted to eccentric photographs but I found this set quite simple, natural and ultimately, exotic which is what I liked about this collection of photos.
I wanted to say so much about these sets of photos; what impressions they give me, the feelings but as you know, I'm terrible with words for I just don't seem to know how express myself unless it's via photos/images. So once again, I'm just going to let the photographs speak for themselves. ^^ Meanwhile, there's more to this set of photos so check out the site if you wish. They're beautiful captures.
